Payment at Time of Service
Clients who carry insurance should remember you are responsible for any deductibles or copays at time of service and thereafter any unpaid balance. Insurance does not cover all issues/conditions/problems that bring people to counseling. It is your responsibility to verify the specifics of your coverage.
Acceptable forms of payment are exact-amount cash (for in-person visits), or credit/debit card.
Rate Inclusion
The therapist charges his/her hourly rate in quarter hours for phone calls over 10 minutes in length, email correspondence, reading assessments or evaluations, writing assessments or letters, and collaborating with necessary professionals (with your permission) for continuity of care. All costs for services outside of session will be billed.
Additional Fees
There are specific situations that could incur additional fees, such as court appearances, preparation and conversations with other medical facilities on your behalf, or medical record transfers. Full disclosure of additional fees can be found on our policies page.

You are the greatest project you will ever work on. Restart. Reset. Refocus. As many times as you need. Just don't give up.

Is everything confidential?
Anything said in therapy is confidential and may not be revealed to a third party without written authorization. However, there are a few exceptions/limitations designed for your safety.
More information on confidentiality can be found on our policies page here.
Limitations for your safety:
-
Abuse of a child or elderly
-
Harm to self or others
-
Criminal activity

How long will therapy last?
Therapy sessions are typically weekly or biweekly depending upon the nature of the presenting challenges and insurance authorizations. It is difficult to initially predict how many sessions will be needed. You and the therapist discuss from session to session what the next steps are and how often therapy sessions will occur.
Highlights:
-
Weekly or biweekly
-
Duration is discussed during initial session
-
Continued discussions on next steps

Does Insurance affect confidentiality?
While having a diagnosis can be helpful for mental health, know that a therapist is required to give a mental health disorder diagnosis to your insurance provider, as it goes in your medical record. The clinical diagnosis is based on your current symptoms even though you may have been previously diagnosed. The therapist and client will discuss your diagnosis during the session.
Key items disclosed to your insurance company:
-
